ShelterCare has an exciting volunteer opportunity for someone interested in consumer activity support. The Uhlhorn Program serves adults with an acquired or traumatic brain injury and provides valuable services to create and foster independence among these adults. As Uhlhorn implements daily structured activities, volunteer support is needed to aide staff during these activities. There is no start/end date, and activities are open to volunteer created activity curriculum. We are seeking support in the areas of shopping, budgeting, time management, cooking, etc.

Uhlhorn is looking for volunteers who can commit to a once a week activity, approximately 1-2 hours in length.

Volunteers in this role will gain experience with client interactions, setting up a curriculum, leadership skills, communication skills, client skill building, and knowledge of brain injury and how to aid individuals in finding strategies to overcome the barriers of how their injury affects them.

ShelterCare has been one of Eugene's leading nonprofit agencies for almost 50 years; we are committed to providing care and support to individuals struggling with homelessness, mental illness, and acquired brain injury.

It is easy to apply online at www.sheltercare.org
