The ShelterCare Medical Recuperation (SMR) program is looking for a graduate intern interested in issues around homelessness, nonprofit work, social services, and medical recuperation/respite programs. This innovative program serves up to 19 individuals who have faced a serious medical crisis and are at risk of being homeless. Many have a mental health diagnosis and/or substance abuse disorder in addition to their medical condition. Clients can stay in the program for up to 30 days, allowing time for recuperation and access to ShelterCare services, including mental heath counseling.

This internship provides education and experience focused primarily on the administrative side of a social services program. The Graduate Intern will assemble and organize the Policy and Procedures Manual for SMR. The intern will gain knowledge of the policies and procedures needed to successfully run a social services program as well as first-hand experience in the day-to-day running of the program.

Flexible schedule available as program is open 7 days a week.
