ShelterCare needs a volunteer interested in helping us continue offering the best possible services to our clients! We need someone to assist in conducting a quality survey among our consumers. This volunteer will be based out of our Center for Programs and Services in the vibrant Whiteaker neighborhood and will accompany staff to most of our programs to interview our consumers, log the data, and conduct an initial analysis of the answers. The analysis portion doesn't involve as much statistical knowledge as the ability to recognize patterns/themes and grouping answers accordingly. The answers and data will then need to be organized and stored.

This project could take a couple months, depending on your availability, and it would make a great classroom project from someone in an undergraduate or graduate social services class. For instance, a journalism or psychology program could lend itself well to this project.

However, you need not be in college to volunteer; anyone with the right skillset and passion for serving vulnerable populations is welcome!!

We're looking for someone with good analytical and people skills who's willing to compassionately interact with adults who may have a severe mental illness. Must be able to pass a DHS background check and possess a valid driver's license.
